Kalyan

Kalyan is a city on the banks of Ulhas River in Thane district of Maharashtra state in Konkan division.

It is governed by Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation. Kalyan is a subdivision (Taluka) of Thane district. Kalyan and its neighbouring township of Dombivli jointly form Kalyan-Dombivli Municipal Corporation, abbreviated as KDMC. It is a founding city of the Mumbai Metropolitan Region.

Getting to Kalyan

The nearest airport is Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport in Mumbai. Once you get off, you will need to take a taxi or hire a car. The distance to Thane is around 32 km. The drive can take between 15-30 minutes depending on the traffic. You can also take an auto-rickshaw to Kurla Central and buy a ticket to the desired station (see By train).

    Any fast/slow train extending beyond Thane would stop at Dombivli.
