Chikmagalur
Chikmagalur, previously known as Kiriya-Muguli, is a city, taluka and the headquarters of Chikmagalur district in the Indian state of Karnataka.
Located on the foothills of the Chandra Drona Mountain range of the Western Ghats, the city attracts tourists from around the world for its pleasant and favourable hill station climate, tropical rainforest and coffee estates. The pristine Baba Budangiri lies to the north of Chikmagalur, where it is believed that Baba Budan introduced coffee to India.

Things to do
Camping Fishing Kayaking Trekking Chikmagalur Walk (5 km). Turn right from the chekpost bus stop on Kadur road. Walk past summit school upto Aldur village. Proceed to railway station area. Visit the Brahmakumaris ashram on the way. Very scenic surroundings.
Where to eat
Food Palace, R.G Rd. Fairly medium sized fast-food joint, ideal for breakfast as well. Very clean hotel. Hotel Kamat, Indira Gandhi Rd. Maharaja Restaurant, IG Rd. You will get very good non-veg food at very reasonable price. The service is very nice. Malnad Paradise, Indira Gandhi Rd. Mayura Vegetarian, Near Head Post Office.
