Belgrade
Belgrade is the capital and largest city of Serbia.
It is located at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers and at the crossroads of the Pannonian Plain and the Balkan Peninsula. According to the 2022 census, the population of Belgrade city proper stands at 1,197,114, its contiguous urban area has 1,298,661 inhabitants, while the population of the city's administrative area totals 1,682,720 people. It is one of the major cities of Southeast Europe and the third-most populous city on the river Danube.

Prices are generally lower than in Western Europe, although some of the city's top restaurants are comparable to those in other European capitals. Serbian cuisine is hearty and meat-heavy.

Getting around Belgrade the local way
- Get inMinibus A1 runs between the airport and Slavija Square, stopping at Fontana (Novi Beograd) and the main bus station.
- Get inCruises along the Danube sometimes call at Belgrade, but there are no point-to-point ferries.
