Weel

Weel is a hamlet and former civil parish, now in the parish of Tickton, in the East Riding of Yorkshire, England.

It is situated approximately 2 miles (3.2 km) east of the town of Beverley and 1.5 miles (2.4 km) south of the village of Tickton. It lies on the east bank of the River Hull. In 1931 the parish had a population of 114. The name Weel derives from the Old English wēl meaning 'deep water' or 'whirlpool'.
