Ulsan
Ulsan, officially the Ulsan Metropolitan City, is South Korea's seventh-largest metropolitan city and the eighth-largest city overall, with a population of over 1.1 million inhabitants.
It is located in the south-east of the country, neighboring Busan to the south and facing Gyeongju to the north.
Getting to Ulsan
Ulsan has no international flights, so you have to get off at another airport in Korea. You can check out flights from three places: Seoul (Gimpo), Busan (Gimhae), and Jeju Island. Getting to Ulsan by plane from Incheon International Airport requires a transfer upon landing to Gimpo Airport, which can be done by either train (Arex) or Limousine bus. Another option is to take the KTX to Ulsan.
Worth seeing
Taehwagang National Garden, 154, Taehwagang National Garden-gil, Jung-gu. A large riverside national garden along the Taehwa River, known for its bamboo grove, seasonal flowers, and walking paths. Ulsan has designated Twelve Scenic Areas of interest to tourists visiting the city.

Things to do
Popular on Munsu Mountain, the tallest in the city. Over 100 sport routes are available from 5.8 up to 5.13. Ulsan is the gateway to Gayasan National Park and is accessible from Eonyang, a suburb of Ulsan. Take a bus to the Eonyang terminal and change for a bus heading to Seongnamsa. Hiking in the numerous mountains around the city is very popular, especially among the Koreans.

Getting around Ulsan the local way
- Get inThere are no ferry services to Ulsan though some people do arrive via work on boats that make port at the shipyards.
- Get inThe nearest international ferry services for the general public are in Busan where they arrive from a whole host of places including China and Japan.
- Get inMany English teachers make use of the ferries in Busan for the E-2 visa run to Fukuoka in Japan.
