Tongchuan is a prefecture-level city located in central Shaanxi province, People's Republic of China on the southern fringe of the Loess Plateau that defines the northern half of the province (Shanbei) and the northern reaches of the Guanzhong Plain.

Getting to Tongchuan

It is 68 kilometers from Xi'an city center and 72 kilometers from Xi'an Xianyang Airport. Xi'an Xianyang International Airport is the nearest major airport to Tongchuan. It connects to many domestic and international cities. The airport is about 72 kilometers from downtown Tongchuan. Taxis and buses are available for easy transfers to Tongchuan — about 1.5 hours to reach Tongchuan city.
