Thanlyin
Thanlyin is a major port city of Myanmar, located across Bago River from the city of Yangon.
Thanlyin comprises 17 quarters and the surrounding Thanlyin Township is home to the largest port in the country, Thilawa Port, as well as the Thilawa Special Economic Zone and various prominent universities. Thanlyin is an urban area of Yangon Region, Myanmar, and a special economic center.
Getting to Thanlyin
Thanylin is a short taxi ride away (USD30 round trip) or catch a local bus from Bogoyoke Aung San Rd in Pazundaung Township for a crowded ride into the past (around 350 kyat) From Thanlyin, a boat (1,500 kyat) takes a few minutes to get across to Kyauktan.
