Thames Ditton
Thames Ditton is a large suburban village on the River Thames, in the Elmbridge borough of Surrey, England.
Apart from a large inhabited island in the river, it lies on the southern bank, centred 12.2 miles (19.6 km) south-west of Charing Cross in central London. Thames Ditton is just outside Greater London but within the Greater London Urban Area, as defined by the Office for National Statistics. Its clustered village centre and shopping area on a winding High Street is surrounded by housing, schools and sports areas. Its riverside faces the Thames Path and Hampton Court Palace Gardens and golf course in the London Borough of Richmond upon Thames. Its most commercial area is spread throughout its conservation area and contains restaurants, cafés, shops and businesses.
Getting to Thames Ditton
Trains to Thames Ditton station are available twice an hour from London Waterloo. There are two stations in the Thames Ditton area: Thames Ditton and Surbiton station. While the Thames Ditton station drops you off smack bang in Thames Ditton, experience shows that the Surbiton station, one of the busiest stations in the area, has more departures and arrivals.

Things to do
Because of its location you can catch some great shopping in surrounding area of Thames Ditton. It's a 20-minute walk and you'll arrive at Surbiton's main Victoria Road where most Thames Ditton residents get there shopping done. There are a couple markets, charity shops, and pharmacies.
