Termal

Termal is a town in Yalova Province in the Marmara region of Turkey.

It is the seat of Termal District. Its population is 3,409 (2022). It is renowned for its hot springs, Yalova Thermal Baths. It is about 80 km away from Istanbul. The huge hot springs complex, lying on a land of about 1.6 square kilometres, is located 12 km away from Yalova. There are four hotels in the complex, one of which is an aparthotel. There are also five baths which possess historical value. The mayor is Hüseyin Sinan Acar.

Getting around Termal the local way

  • Get inIDO car ferries sail every 2 hours from Istanbul Yenikapı, just south of the Old City, taking 75 min.
  • Get inhas IDO car ferries from Eskihisar near Gebze across the Gulf.
  • Get inDolmuşes run from the ferry pier (look for the booth) to Orhangazi every 30 min, to İznik hourly, and to Yenişehir every two hours.
  • Get aroundYalova sprawls, with several outlying towns such as Termal (for hot springs), Çınarcık and Çiftlikköy (for beaches) and Topçular (for ferries from Eskihisar).
  • Get aroundIn town their main hub is by the ferry terminal (ask for İDO); for town centre ask for Heykel or Merkez.
