Stavroupoli
Stavroupoli is a suburb of the Thessaloniki Urban Area and a former municipality in the regional unit of Thessaloniki, Greece.
Since the 2011 local government reform it has been part of the Pavlos Melas Municipality, of which it is the seat and a municipal unit. The municipal unit has an area of 3.175 km2. Stavroupoli is located northwest of Thessaloniki's city centre.
Getting to Stavroupoli
Coming from the east, the quickest way to reach Stavroupolis is to exit at the Xanthi East Junction, and to follow the National Highway to Stavroupolis and Drama.

Things to do
The Rodhopi mountains are full of routes and trails for cycling, hiking and horse riding. Hiking - A signed 5km trail, starting at Karyofyto village, leads you to Gyftokastro peak, with an altitude of 1745m and a panoramic view of contiguous Bulgaria.
Getting around Stavroupoli the local way
