Soufriere

Soufrière is a town on the West Coast of Saint Lucia, in the eastern Caribbean Sea.

The town and the surrounding district has a population of 7,935. It was colonized by the French and was the original capital of the island.

Getting around Soufriere the local way

  • Get inThere are water taxis that stop in Soufriere coming from both the northern and southern part of the island.
  • Get aroundThe minibuses which depart regularly for Vieux Fort will drop people on the road for either the volcano, the estate or the Pitons, but some walking may be required afterwards.
