Royal Mile
The Royal Mile is a series of streets forming the main thoroughfare of the Old Town of Edinburgh, Scotland.
The term originated in the early 20th century and has since entered popular usage.

Getting around Royal Mile the local way
- Get inNorth Sea ferries no longer sail to Rosyth, so sailing from the continent means travelling via Newcastle, Hull, Harwich or the Channel ports.
- Get inFerries from Northern Ireland dock at Cairnryan, near Stranraer on the west coast.
- Get aroundIt passes through New Town along Princes Street and Shandwick Place to Haymarket, then takes an off-road track through the western suburbs.
