Getting around Ren-ai District the local way

  • Get inThe twice-weekly ferry service to Xiamen and Damaiyu, Yuhuan is operated by the vessel COSCO Star, although as of May 2026, passenger services remain indefinitely suspended.
  • Get inThere is a weekly (schedule to be doubled from July 2026) 8-hour overnight ferry service between Keelung and Ishigaki, Japan, operated by Yaima Line.
  • Get inFor its first two months operating, the ferry departs Keelung on 23:00 every Tuesday, while the returning route departs Ishigaki on 23:00 every Sunday.
  • Get inA regular domestic ferry to the outlying islands of Matsu is also available, though it is very basic and used mostly by military personnel.
  • Get inThe nightly ferry service to Matsu leaves the harbour at 23:00.
