Mölndal is the seat and administrative centre of Mölndal Municipality and a part of the Gothenburg urban area on the west coast of Sweden.

About 40,000 of the municipality's 60,000 inhabitants live in Mölndal proper.

Getting around Mölndal the local way

  • Get inThe ferries from Frederikshavn arrive at Masthugget, just a few hundred metres from the inner city ("within the moat"), the ferries from Kiel a couple of kilometres further west.

  • Get aroundTwo ferry services run across the river; Älvsnabben is the regular ferry service with traffic every 30 minutes, and Älvsnabbare that only run between Rosenlund and Lindholmspiren (free of charge) during work hours.
