Get inBy bus: Citylink 922 runs four times a day from Glasgow Buchanan Station, taking an hour and connecting with the Arran ferry.
Get inBy boat: some ferries to Arran sail from Troon during the interminable repairs to Ardrossan the usual mainland port.
Go nextLargs is a similar seaside town, with a short ferry crossing to Great Cumbrae.
Go nextArdrossan is only worth visiting to take the ferry to the charming Isle of Arran.
