Ljubljana
Ljubljana is the capital and largest city of Slovenia, located along a trade route between the northern Adriatic Sea and the Danube region, north of the country's largest marsh, it has been inhabited since prehistoric times.
It is the country's cultural, educational, economic, political and administrative centre and the seat of the Urban Municipality of Ljubljana.

Worth seeing
In 2021, seven works in Ljubljana by architect Jože Plečnik were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. These are the Trnovo Bridge, the green promenade along Vegova Street, the promenade along the embankments and bridges of the Ljubljanica River, the Roman walls in Mirje, the Church of St Michael, the Church of St. Francis of Assisi and the Garden of All Saints (Plečnik’s Žale).
Things to do
Hot Air Balloon Flights (Balonarski center Barje), info@bcb.si. These launch at sunrise for one-hour flights, weather permitting. The launch spot is chosen on the day so the wind carries you over the historic centre. The whole programme is about 4 hours so reckon on a very early start. From €180 pp. Football:

Getting around Ljubljana the local way
- Get inIt's connected by a short corridor to the old Terminal B, now used for charter flights.
- Go nextRijeka in Croatia (2 hr 30 min) for the Istrian peninsula, ferries to the Adriatic islands, and transport south to Zadar and Split.
