Leinfelden-Echterdingen
Leinfelden-Echterdingen is a town in the district of Esslingen, in Baden-Württemberg, Germany.
It is located approximately 10 km south of Stuttgart, near the Stuttgart Airport and directly adjacent to the newly built Stuttgart Trade Fair. The town was formed on 1 January 1975 by the merging of four former municipalities: Leinfelden, Echterdingen, Musberg and Stetten auf den Fildern. Zeppelin LZ 4 caught fire and burned out in Echterdingen in August 1908.
Getting to Leinfelden-Echterdingen
Stuttgart airport is adjacent to the town. Is on the S2 and S3 lines, Echterdingen is one station from Stuttgart airport while Leinfelden is one further on towards Vaihingen and Stuttgart centre. On the B27, 12 km from the centre of Stuttgart, just off the Stuttgart-Möhringen exit of the A8.

Getting around Leinfelden-Echterdingen the local way
- Get inFor most "traditional" airlines and many German charter airlines, a train ticket from FRA can be booked together with the flight for a reduced price or even for free.
- Get aroundFor the Stuttgart Metropolitan Region ("Metropolregion Stuttgart"), which covers nearly half of Baden-Württemberg's territory and much of what can be practically be reached on a day trip from Stuttgart, the Metropolticket is a slightly cheaper day ticket than the Baden-Württemberg-Ticket: for the first traveller, extra for additional travellers, up to five total travellers.
