Jelenia Góra
Jelenia Góra is a historic city in southwestern Poland, within the regions of Silesia and Lower Silesia.
Jelenia Góra is situated in the Lower Silesian Voivodeship, close to the Karkonosze mountain range, with ski resorts such as Karpacz and Szklarska Poręba situated 10 to 15 kilometres from the city. Jelenia Góra constitutes a separate urban gmina as well as being the seat of surrounding Karkonosze County. In 2021, the population was 77,366. The area, including the oldest spa district of Cieplice Śląskie-Zdrój, is one of the most valued recreational and leisure locations in Poland.
Getting to Jelenia Góra
Jelenia Gora is served mainly regional rail operator Koleje Dolnoslaskie. There are also some trains operated by Polregio and a few long distance IC trains by PKP Intercity daily. A train from Wrocław takes about 2 hours. PKS Jelenia Góra runs daily from Wrocław. On Fridays during the academic year, getting a place on a bus to Jelenia Góra may be a problem. Buy tickets in advance.
Worth seeing
Town centre with the Town Hall Square and the main promenade, the Saint Erazm and Pankracy Church and the Sanctuary of the Holy Cross.

Things to do
Go for a swim in Termy Cieplickie. Karkonosze's Light Festival - Cieplice's festival of lights where science and technology meet art and education; each year in January. International Film Festival ZOOM - ZBLIŻENIA - in February, independent film art festival, features screenings, workshop, prizes.
Where to eat
Various restaurants, cafes, fast food outlets etc. are located in the vicinity of the Town Hall Square and 1 May Street in the city centre. You will also find restaurants and pubs in Cieplice around the Piastowski Square. To get a bit of the old communistic feeling, head to restaurant Relaks on Ulica
