Ilesa

Ilesa or Ilesha is a historic city located in Osun State, southwest Nigeria; it is also the name of the capital of a historic state-kingdom centred around that town as the capital.

The state is ruled by a monarch bearing the title of His Imperial Majesty, the Owa Obokun Adimula of Ijesaland. The city of Ilesa consists of Ilesa itself and a number of surrounding cities.

Getting to Ilesa

Several bus terminals are scattered around the area. Two major ones are Ojota and Oshodi, which is often called Motor Park. The fare from Lagos is about ₦4,000 and the journey lasts 4 hours. This option helps in management of time if you are able to bear the traffic on the expressway and the constant delays. The journey saves you a good hour as against the bus ride. Estimated journey is around 3 hours.
