It is located 15 km (10 mi) west of Gaborone, the capital of Botswana. The population was 10,399 in 2001 census, making it the fourth largest settlement in Kweneng. Its population was 14,842 at the 2011 census. It is part of Gaborone agglomeration, home to 421,907 inhabitants according to the 2011 census.
