Ciudad Obregón

Ciudad Obregón is a city in southern Sonora.

It is the state's second largest city after Hermosillo and serves as the municipal seat of Cajeme. As of 2020, the city has a population of 436,484. Ciudad Obregón is 530 km (330 mi) south of the country's northern border.

Getting to Ciudad Obregón

Ciudad Obregón has its own international airport which receives flights from most major Mexican cities and from Tucson, Phoenix, Las Vegas and Los Angeles. If you are travelling from most European destinations, your flight will probably involve a transfer from Mexico City Airport to Ciudad Obregon using Aeromexico Connect, who provides four daily flights between Mexico City and Ciudad Obregón.

Yaquis Museum (Museo de los Yaquis), Obregón and Calle Sinaloa 200, Cócorit (10 minutes from Ciudad Obregón),. Daily 09:00-18:00. The Yaquis Museum provides a very interesting and educational day out for people of all ages where they can learn everything the famous Yaqui Indian tribe. Adults M$10, children M$5. Presa Oviachic - General Alvaro Obregon. Obregoón's most visited outdoor area where tourists and visitors enjoy camping, fishing, water sports. There is also a children's recreational park popular amongst families and visitors. To get there you follow the International Highway 15 north of Obregon for 10 km then turn right at ”Carretera a Rosario-Esperanza”.

Where to eat

The best thing is to eat beef in all its varieties: tacos, cuts, machaca, jerky and in burritos. The quintessential sweet snacks are coyotas. It also has excellent seafood which you can enjoy in the Paredón, which is an estuary. And the other option is to eat bass and its derivatives in the Oviachic Dam, in addition to having an excellent view of the desert and the dam. La Patrona, Miguel Aleman 111 Norte,.
