Bedford is a market town in Bedfordshire.
At the 2021 Census, the population of its urban area was 167,446. Bedford is the county town of Bedfordshire and seat of the Borough of Bedford local government district.

Art gallery and museum containing a good range of Anglo-Saxon and Roman artefacts, and 19th century art.

A large Victorian park to the North of the town centre.

The remains of a castle built in 919 and destroyed in 1224, near the river embankment.
- 06St Paul's Church
An interesting church with over 700 years history.
