Amadora
Amadora, officially City of Amadora, is a city and municipality in the northwest of the Lisbon metropolitan area and 10 km from central Lisbon.
The population in 2011 was 175,136, in an area of 23.78 km2. It is the fourth biggest and most densely populated city in Portugal.

Amadora has three stations on the northwest end of the Blue Line (Linha Azul) of the Lisbon Metro (Metropolitano de Lisboa):

Things to do
Football: CF Estrela da Amadora were promoted in 2023 so they play soccer in Primeira Liga, Portugal's top tier. Their home ground Estádio José Gomes (capacity 9300) is 500 west of Reboleira railway station. The women's team play in their top tier.

Getting around Amadora the local way
- Get inThere are two airports within the Lisbon Region: Lisbon Portela Airport, which handles scheduled and charter passenger flights, and Aeródromo Municipal de Cascais, which is a small airport for general aviation (private planes) in Cascais.
- Get aroundAt its backbone are the local railways, supported by the light rail systems and the ferries across the Tagus, complemented by bus connections, all of which have several operators.
- Get aroundThe line starts in Barreiros on the south bank of the Tagus, where you can get by a ferry from the very heart of Lisbon.
- Get aroundTo close the gap the Tagus poses, a company called Transtejo operates a number of regular ferry connections between various quays in Lisbon and municipalities on the southern side of the river.
