Agatti
Agatti Island is a 7.6 km long island, situated on a coral atoll called Agatti atoll in the Union Territory of Lakshadweep, India.
It is 459 km (285 mi) west of the city of Kochi.
Getting around Agatti the local way
Agatti is the only airstrip in Lakshadweep, so almost everyone flies in from Kochi, clears an entry permit, then leaves the island again by boat – resort speedboat to Bangaram and Thinnakara, government high-speed craft to Kavaratti and Kadmat, and in the monsoon a helicopter, because the fast boats stop running.

- 02Agatti – Bangaram – Thinnakara resort speedboatspeedboat
Agatti jetty to Bangaram, and on to Thinnakara
- Where

- When
- On demand, timed to flight arrivals and departures – no published timetable
- Fare (2024)
- ₹5,200 per person quoted as the Agatti transfer fee on a Bangaram booking; other agents quote ₹3,500–5,000 return, so confirm before you fly
- Takes

- Season
- Fair weather only. Boats are withdrawn in the southwest monsoon, roughly May to September, when the helicopter is the fallback.

Samudram sails from Kochi and calls at Kavaratti, Kalpeni and Minicoy; the island packages fly you to Agatti and boat you on

- Samudram is a five-day sailing run on set dates; island cottages are booked by the night
- Fare (2025)
- Samudram per adult: Diamond class ₹42,500, Gold class ₹33,500, with a 10% December surcharge. Bangaram AC cottage ₹18,000 a night, Kavaratti AC suite ₹11,000 a night.

Not yet confirmed: No published fare or timetable for the inter-island high-speed craft (HSC Cheriyapani, Valiyapani, Parali, Blue Marlin, Black Marlin, Skip Jack). Ask the Port Office at Agatti jetty or the Department of Port, Shipping and Aviation.; Helicopter tariff for tourists is unconfirmed. The only figure found is an undated US$150 return on Wikivoyage; there is no public Pawan Hans fare sheet for the Lakshadweep lease.; Speedboat quotes for Agatti–Bangaram vary widely between agents – ₹3,500 to ₹5,200 per person – and it is unclear which are per person, which return, and which include Thinnakara. Confirm with SPORTS at +91 949 598 4001.; Agatti auto rickshaw and bicycle rates are not published anywhere reliable. Ask the guesthouse on arrival.; Mainland ship sailing dates are released in short blocks; no annual timetable exists. Watch lakshadweep.irctc.co.in for booking-open notices.; Whether a tourist can buy a seat on a routine inter-island vessel independently of a package could not be confirmed.; No source found on cargo boats, dinghies or fishing-boat hire between Agatti and the uninhabited islets, which locals clearly use..
The field note on Agatti reads this entry in full, one option at a time, with every source beside it.
