Acapulco de Juárez
Acapulco de Juárez, commonly called Acapulco, is a city and major seaport in the state of Guerrero on the Pacific coast of Mexico, 380 kilometres (240 mi) south of Mexico City.
Located on a deep, semicircular bay, Acapulco has been a port since the early colonial period in Mexico's history. It is a port of call for shipping and cruise lines running between Panama and San Francisco, California. The city of Acapulco is the largest in the state, larger than the state capital Chilpancingo. Acapulco is also Mexico's largest beach and balneario resort city. Acapulco de Juárez, Guerrero is the municipal seat of the municipality of Acapulco, Guerrero.
Getting to Acapulco de Juárez
Travelers by bus or car should note the cautions in "Stay safe" below. Many buses go from major cities (e.g. Mexico City) to Acapulco. Most buses are safe, fast and comfortable and usually not very expensive. Some bus lines offer student discounts.

- 01La Quebrada Cliff Divers
No visit to Acapulco is complete without watching the cliff divers perform their impressive jumps into the shallow stream of water of dangerous tides that forms in the bottom part of La Quebrada.
- 02Zócalo
Zócalo, Acapulco's town square, lies on the western side of La Costera.
- 03Fort San Diego
16th century Spanish fortress, built to defend the Acapulco harbor against pirates.
- 04Pie de la Cuesta
Pie de la Cuesta is a quiet strip of land roughly 6 mi (9.7 km) northwest of Acapulco, bordered on one side by the Pacific Ocean and on the other by a freshwater lake (Laguna de Cuyoca) on the other.

Located at a smaller bay just east of Acapulco, Puerto Marqués sees much less tourist traffic than Acapulco.

Isla de la Roqueta has a beautiful beach with shallow areas for families to play.
