Visible from much of the city, the slopes of Mount Coot-tha are home to the Mount Coot-tha Forest, a popular bushwalking destination. Other sites of interest include the Mount Coot-tha Lookout, Brisbane Botanic Gardens and Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium, as well as a mountain drive, bike trails, parks, and television and radio towers. The latter are known collectively as the Mount Coot-tha transmitters, and form an important part of Brisbane’s cityscape. As of the 2021 census, the suburb of Mount Coot-tha had a population of 0 people.
