It lies south-west of Stockport, near Manchester Airport, bordered by Gatley to the north, Cheadle to the north-east, Cheadle Hulme to the east, Stanley Green to the south-east, Handforth to the south, Styal to the south-west, and Moss Nook and Peel Hall to the west.
