Arekere is a residential area located along Bannerghatta Road in South Bangalore. The name Arekere originates from a water reservoir in the area. It is divided into two halves by Bannerghatta Road. To its northeast lies Vijaya Bank Employees Layout, to its southeast lies Hulimavu, Doresanipalya and Panduranga Nagar lie along its west.
