Liaocheng
Liaocheng is a prefecture-level city in western Shandong province, China.

Liaocheng is a prefecture-level city in western Shandong province, China. It borders the provincial capital of Jinan to the southeast, Dezhou to the northeast, Tai'an to the south, and the provinces of Hebei and Henan to the west. The Grand Canal flows through the city center. Its population was 5,789,863 at the 2010 census of whom 1,229,768 lived in the built-up area made up of Donchangfu district, even though large parts remain rural.

Things to do
Dongchang Lake Boating and Cycling. Rent a pedal boat or a shared bicycle to explore the vast Dongchang Lake. The 21-kilometer loop around the lake offers beautiful views of the ancient city and is especially pleasant in spring and autumn. Liaocheng Acrobatics Performance. Liaocheng is known as the "Hometown of Chinese Acrobatics." Watching a traditional acrobatics show is a great way to experience local culture.

Where to eat
Liaocheng's culinary culture is part of the Shandong (Lu) cuisine tradition. Historically, the Grand Canal brought merchants from various parts of China; this contributed to a mix of northern and southern culinary traditions in the local cuisine. Liaocheng is located in northern China, so noodles, pancakes, Mantou and other pasta are very common. The local breakfast includes old tofu, soup dishes, and Shazhen Guada.
