Lying in the Wulka valley, it had 842 inhabitants at the end of 2025 and is home to a significant Burgenland Croat minority alongside a German-speaking majority; the village maintains a local branch of the largest Burgenland Croat cultural association and an associated tamburitza ensemble, and operates bilingual German–Croatian kindergarten and primary schools.
